We need a balance of colour for good health.

All colours have their challenges as well as their benefits so remember no one colour is more important than another.

Pink – Also Linked to the Heart Chakra

Pink is the centre of unconditional love, child-rearing and nurturing, warmth, caring for yourself, compassion and affection.

Challenges: Need for love, difficulties to receive love, unrequited love, childlike.

Red  ~ The Base Chakra

Red is the centre of survival, stability, sexuality, passion, the material side of life, physical energy and grounding.

Challenges: Anger, frustration, resentment, carnal passion, hatred, arrogance.

Red should be avoided:by people with high blood pressure or aggression, as this could inflame the situation.

Orange ~ The Sacral Chakra

Orange is the centre of relationships, emotions, sexuality, gut instincts, sociability, independence and adventure.

Challenges: Dependency, anti-social, shock, trauma, exhibitionism.

Orange should be avoided: by people who are easily agitated or nervous.

Yellow ~ The Solar Plexus Chakra

Yellow is the centre of confidence, willpower, personal power, knowledge, intellect, happiness, mental clarity and focus.

Challenges: Fear, anxiety, confusion, nervousness, negative thoughts.

Yellow should be avoided: by people who are nervous or suffering from mental health problems.

Green ~ The Heart Chakra

Green is the centre of compassion, forgiveness, space, growth, harmony, balance, and the feeling side of life.

Challenges: Need for space, indecisiveness, jealousy, envy, prejudice.

Green should be avoided: by people who have malignant growths.

Blue ~ The Throat Chakra

Blue is the centre of communication and expression, and instils feelings of safety, serenity, calm, peace and protection.

Challenges: Authority, power, control, ambition, superstition, apathy.

Blue should be avoided: by people who are feeling depressed.

Indigo ~ The Brow Chakra

Indigo is the centre of intuition, imagination, higher mind functions and psychic and third eye abilities.

Challenges: Depression, isolation, separateness, loneliness, idealisation.

Indigo should be avoided: by people who are feeling “out of this world”.

Violet ~ The Crown Chakra

Violet is the centre of healing, spirituality, service, transformation, tranquillity and higher consciousness.

Challenges: Grief, hidden anger, escapism, domination, withdrawal, depression.

Violet should be avoided: by people who are feeling lethargic or in a state of disorientation.

Black - All Colours Contained

Black is the centre of mystery – the seeking of answers, protection, creation - the womb out of which the new is born. It is sexy

Challenges: Limitation, the end, the invisible, hiding from the world, stagnation.

White - All Colours Reflected

White is the centre of innocence, purity, peace, cleanliness and orderliness.

Challenges: Non-experience, pain, suffering, devoid of colour, drained, washed out cold and sterile.
